All groups are welcome at Bristol Zoo Project, including those with additional needs.

Wheelchair accessibility
The majority of our site is wheelchair accessible. For our detailed access statement, see here.
Across the zoo we have wheelchair-accessible picnic tables. Explorers Basecamp and African Forest include some accessible play.
Accessible toilets
We offer accessible toilets at multiple locations across the site, check the map for locations. We don't yet have a Changing Places toilet, but watch this space for an exciting announcement coming soon!
Assistance dogs
We welcome assistance dogs on site. Please see our accessibility page for more information, including a map of areas where assistance dogs are allowed.

Accessible play at Bristol Zoo Project
African Forest
African Forest has been designed with a variety of inclusive features, including wheelchair-accessible interactive play and low-level telescopes for viewing the gorillas and mangabeys.
Explorers Basecamp
Explorers Basecamp play area includes wheelchair-accessible floor trampolines, a roundabout and a companion slide. There is a ramp up to the first level of the play tower, where there are sensory games and puzzles including signs in BSL and braille.
Learning Sessions
Our learning team are fully equipped to support your group.
Our learning sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of all ages and abilities, including SEND, EBD and SEMH.
They can change the way your learning session is delivered, or adapt their style when answering students' questions. Just let us know the needs of your group.
We aim to make the sessions as inclusive as possible, engaging pupils with the natural world, and developing their social and communication skills.

African Safari
Visit our African village and discover real African animals including giraffes, zebras and cheetahs. Through outdoor activities including games, find out how animals live in the grassland and how they rely on each other for survival.

Wild about Wolves
Learn the truth about wolves. Discover why wolves howl and find your ‘pack’ by smell alone. Through a series of games, your group will find out about wolf adaptation and take part in the predator-prey challenge!

Suggest how to preserve remaining forests in the UK
