Gorilla
We have seven gorillas at Bristol Zoo Project; new silverback Nkoumou, adult females Touni, Kala and Kera, adolescent female Ayana, and juvenile males Juni and Hasani.
They live in our brand-new African Forest habitat, and share a space with our trio of cherry-crowned mangabeys.

Conservation
Western lowland gorillas are classed as Critically Endangered by the IUCN, and it’s believed that only around 300,000 remain in the wild.
Their biggest threats are large predators such as leopards and crocodiles, as well as human impact from poaching, disease transmission, and habitat loss.
Habitat
Our gorilla troop lives in the brand-new African Forest habitat, with an island that is 4.5 times the size of their former home at Bristol Zoo Gardens.
They share a space with cheeky cherry-crowned mangabeys, who provide lots of natural enrichment.
Inside their house, they have a huge climbing gym with resting platforms, and a natural biofloor where they can forage.
