What does it take to successfully bring two very different primate species together? Join us for an engaging look at the planning, preparation, and ongoing management behind mixed-species habitats featuring mangabeys and gorillas.
Drawing on practical experience and behavioural insights, this talk from animal keeper Gareth Davies explores the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned from creating shared spaces for these charismatic primates.
From habitat design and animal introductions to behavioural monitoring and welfare considerations, discover how careful management can foster positive interactions and enrich the lives of both species and gain valuable insights into one of the most fascinating aspects of modern zoo husbandry.
This talk will start at 2pm with plenty of time for questions at the end, with a finishing time of 3.30pm.
